One Warm Line nears musical completion
Skyrider Storyworlds’ original frontier musical approaches a defining milestone in its musical development.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — September 1, 2026 — Skyrider Storyworlds announces that One Warm Line, its original musical frontier drama, is nearing musical completion. Created by Collin Poseley with musical direction by Nick Almond, the project brings the hopes, hardships, and human connections of the American frontier into song.
Set in 1846 and drawing its historical context from the Donner–Reed journey, One Warm Line follows James Frazier Reed, his daughter Virginia, and their dog Cash as they travel west from Independence, Missouri, toward the Pacific coast. The promise of a new life gives way to a journey that tests family bonds, ambition, and the will to survive.
Music carries the story through those changing circumstances: the hope of departure, the strain of the road, and the ties people hold onto when the way forward becomes uncertain. As the musical nears completion, those individual voices come together in a larger story of families and companions making their way across an unforgiving landscape.
The collaboration between Poseley and Almond has helped shape dozens of songs and the project’s musical foundation. Almond’s work across mandolin, piano, guitar, and songwriting brings classical influences and Western roots to that collaboration. Poseley’s background in theater, filmmaking, and education informs the project’s attention to character, visual storytelling, and shared experience.
The approaching milestone marks progress in the musical’s development as part of Skyrider Storyworlds’ wider creative slate. At its heart is a simple premise: some crossed for glory; some crossed for home.
