One Warm Line announces stage and episodic television musicals

One frontier story. Two forms of musical storytelling. Skyrider Storyworlds sets separate paths for the stage and the screen.

For immediate release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — September 15, 2026 — Skyrider Storyworlds announces that One Warm Line is being developed in two distinct formats: a stage musical and an episodic television musical. The decision gives the original frontier story separate creative paths, each shaped around the possibilities of its medium.

The announcement follows the company’s September 1 update that the project was nearing musical completion. As the work moves forward, its music, characters, and historical setting will form the shared foundation for both adaptations.

A musical for the stage

The stage version centers on the immediacy of live performance: actors, voices, and an audience sharing the journey in one space. Its development will shape the story’s family relationships, conflicts, and musical moments into a theatrical experience, bringing the scale of the frontier into focus through the people crossing it.

A musical told in episodes

The television version approaches One Warm Line as an episodic musical, with songs integrated into an unfolding screen narrative. The format creates room to spend more time with individual characters, follow intersecting stories, and explore how choices made along the trail carry consequences into later episodes.

Both versions draw from the same storyworld while developing their own structure and pacing. The stage musical and the episodic television musical will each give the journey a form suited to the way its audience experiences it.

The same road west

Set in 1846 and drawing its historical context from the Donner–Reed journey, One Warm Line follows James Frazier Reed, his daughter Virginia, and their dog Cash as they travel toward the Pacific coast. Family, ambition, and survival remain at the heart of both versions.

Created by Collin Poseley with musical direction by Nick Almond, the project brings together musical collaboration and cinematic storytelling within Skyrider Storyworlds’ creative slate.
